Telecommunication System Engineering. This project was for complete renovation of all United Airline facilities at LAX, including refurbished hold rooms with new GIDS, podiums and backscreens, new jet bridges for all 23 gates, new automated aircraft parking system, temporary and new United Club, United break room, check-in counters, baggage claims, GIDS, FIDS & RIDS. In addition, a new 12-lane security checkpoint was designed with new TSA and airport authority IDF Rooms and equipment. Redundant cabling was installed for UA to ensure the facility complied with Level 5 requirements, including all ABF fiber optic backbone cables and power with UPS backup. The telecommunications cabling infrastructure consists of backbone cables, horizontal cables, connectors, equipment rooms, raceways, etc. All structured cabling was required to conform with existing LAWA SCS standards as well as UA critical infrastructure standards. This project was bid in multiple packages. This project was estimated at $377 million.
